Contacts shortcuts
Shortcuts for managing your address book in the Contacts app.
Use these shortcuts to insert and update contact cards, scrape data for new contacts, or interact with the people in your address book.
The Contacts app is the default way to sync information from your Address Book across Apple devices.
While the Contacts app hasn’t received many features over the years, the Shortcuts support for the app allows new levels of control over your contacts and their information – try pulling data, adding it in, and updating it in place with this set of shortcuts:
Capture contact info
Presents a series of prompts for contact information, then generates a .VCF and asks you how you want to share it.
Create a contact card
Asks you to enter in contact information, then generates a .VCF vcard file out of your answers and shares it.
Share your contact card
Shares a duplicate of your personal contact card designed only for business.
Add note to contact
Searches for contacts by group, then has you add text to place in their note field.
Add contacts to group
Asks you to select a Contact Group, then creates reminders to follow up with each person in that group.
Message from Contact Groups
Asks you to select a Contact Group, then creates reminders to follow up with each person in that group.

Asks you to select a Contact Group, then creates reminders to follow up with each person in that group.
Batch-send file to a group
Asks you to pick a file, then a Contact Group, then sends that file to each person in the group one-by-one.
Create follow-up tasks
Asks you to select a Contact Group, then creates reminders to follow up with each person in that group.
Edit gaming contact
Prompts you to enter first, last, and nickname details for a contact before adding them to a pre-programmed group. Useful for gaming friends over Discord.
Extract phone numbers
Scrapes text from input and looks for strings formatted as phone numbers.
Extract email addresses
Looks through the input text for email addresses and copies them to the clipboard.
Show previous birthdays
Check for contacts whose birthdays are in the next two weeks and displays their name and the date.
Show upcoming birthdays
Check for contacts whose birthdays are in the next two weeks and displays their name and the date.
Send birthday messages
Checks for anyone whose birthday is today and starts a message to wish them a happy birthday.
Send a thank-you
Asks you to select a contact, then let’s you choose to message, call, FaceTime, or email them, along with prompts for the message if needed.
