Add New Calendar allows for, rather than adding events to an existing calendar that was set up in advance, setting up a new calendar on the fly via Shortcuts as needed.
With this action, Shortcuts users can create and share entire systems that depend on custom calendars that new users wouldn’t already have set up on their device.
I have, for example, a whole “Meals” calendar that I use to plug in specific times I need to eat ahead of meetings or when planning special cooking sessions; any Shortcuts that I’d share would require me to include instructions telling you to set up a similar calendar in advance, but now I can just include a step that generates the calendar for you.
