The team at Things has added powerful new actions for Shortcuts based on the latest developer APIs.
I streamed for an hour and a half on Thursday, December 8th and came up with these shortcuts with folks in the chat – check out the stream!
Open links from Today
Asks you to pick from tasks assigned to Today and opens any URLs in the Notes.
Create Things Show URL from ID
Takes an item ID and adds it to the Things deep link back to that item.
Task Countdown Chart
Generate a widget chart based on your completed vs total tasks for the day.
Add shortcuts folder to Things
Creates a project for a Folder in Shortcuts, then adds each shortcut as a to-do with a link to open the shortcut.
Open random Things project
Picks a random Area, then a Project, then opens it in Things.
Open Things project
Asks you to pick an area, then project from that area, then opens it in Things.
Mark project as complete
Asks you to pick an area, then a project, then marks it as done.
Open Things for Mac
Opens Things for Mac on the current device or remotely via SSH from other devices.
Add to Things from Reminders
Asks you to choose a Reminders list, then reminders from that list, then exports them into Things and deletes the originals.
Make Things URLs
Generate deep links into the Things app by typing in a list of tasks or projects or areas.
