Free vs. Member Shortcuts
Browse the latest shortcuts available for free or members-only.
Free shortcuts are easier to understand, solve a simple use case, or ideas that everyone should have in their collection.
Members-only shortcuts are more complex, solve specific use cases very well, and represent my unique creations.
Free shortcuts
Post to Threads
Asks you to enter the text of your post, then URL encodes the result and passes it to Threads’ URL scheme for creating posts. On Mac, copies the result and opens Threads.net.
Toggle left Key Light
Uses the Elgato Control Center app to switch the Key Light pointing towards the ceiling on or off.
Dictate to Arc
Starts dictation, then stops after you pause and passes your dictation to Arc Search as a query.
Matthew Mode
Changes the user account of an Apple TV to my personal account, plus activates Light Mode and deactivates Reduce Loud Sounds.
Open plugins to update on WordPress
Opens the “Update” page for Plugins on a WordPress site.
Move Speakers
Asks you to choose a speaker, then changes the current playback destination there and starts Podcasts.
Get Help with Notion
Opens the URL to the Help and Documentation resources from Notion where you can search for anything and learn from Notion Academy.
Check the weather forecast
Displays the temperature in conditions between 7 AM and 7 PM for the next 24 hours.
Members-only shortcuts
Play my latest voice memo
Immediately starts playing the most recent voice memo taken.
Order Pet Supplies on Amazon
Opens the Amazon category page for pets like dogs, cats, and hamsters.
Brainstorm
Opens the Quick Entry feature in MindNode to a blank page, which lets me start building a nested outline that can be saved as a mind map.
Open Most Gifted on Amazon
“Our most popular products ordered as gifts. Updated daily.”
Create Voice Memos folder
Prompts you to enter a name, then generates a folder in Voice Memos.
Change Dynamic Type text size settings
Opens the deep link into Settings > Display > Text Size so you can control how things look on your iPad.
All Shortcuts Folders
All shortcuts are collected into the same folders that I use in the Shortcuts app, grouped into these categories.
Note: This section shows both free and members-only shortcuts together in the same lists.
However, usually an entire folder is either free or members-only.
AI shortcuts
Shortcuts for interacting with your preferred AI platforms of choice.
Work with Apple Intelligence, call out to ChatGPT, or open into Claude, Codex, Cursor, Gemini, and Meta AI.
Or, take notes with Monologue.
App Store Apps shortcuts
Shortcuts for third-party apps from the App Store.
Some are sets of shortcuts for Actions and some are sets of Entities (each app’s custom data type).
For apps without Shortcuts support, these use URLs to deep link to the correct pages and get you there faster.
Apple Apps shortcuts
Shortcuts for Apple’s native apps.
Access your calendar, watch in the TV app, or managing your Shortcuts collection.
iOS 18 shortcuts
Shortcuts for the previous iOS 18 release cycle.
Improvements include Apple Intelligence actions, Controls, easier ways to add shortcuts to the Home Screen, actions for Messages, and more actions for Apple apps.
Creator shortcuts
Shortcuts for the workflows behind being a content creator.
Post your podcast or pull from your YouTube channel.
Scripting shortcuts
Shortcuts that take advantage of Shortcuts’ Scripting capabilities to provide more advanced capabilities for simple utilities.
Device shortcuts
Shortcuts focused on device-specific controls for each of Apple’s product lines or related accessories.
These work great in a Widget Stack in the Today view to the left of the Home Screen.
Settings shortcuts
Deep links or Controls for the Settings app and its related subsections.
